Astute political observers in Canada are likely aware of the latest dust-up falling under the banner of so-called “Islamophobia.” Many Canadians– Quebecois in particular– are up in arms regarding a recent appointment of “Minister of Islamophobia,” Amira Elghabaway.
Thrust upon society by Justin Trudeau, Liberal MP Ahmed Hussen and National Council of Canadian Muslims, Ms. Elghabaway is being called out for her anti-Canadian sentiments.
Not that it will make a spot of difference. Both PM Justin Trudeau and woke partner New Democratic Party leader Jagmeet Singh share her attitudes. Despite public outrage, this triple-play of animus toward our nation has hit the ball out of the park.
Yes, a rarity among the type has occurred. Elgabaway actually displayed contrition regarding her branding of Canada as a racist, Islamophobic society. Even if she didn’t, there was no way in hades Ms. Thang would be removed from her post. Religious fundamentalism doesn’t work that way.
One has to wonder about her self-proclaimed purpose as racialized “healer’ of Canadian society. Typically, an ability to compromise must come from both sides of the coin in order to achieve positive outcome. Frankly, it’s not the way of the Elgahabaway psyche. Conversely, it’s more a matter of maintaining a cast-in-stone position while those around you must “progress” toward acceptance of antiquated religious dogma.
Only to find out that the City of London, Ontario has now hired its own Islamophobia cop.
As reported by CBC News, “As part of London’s action plan to fight Islamophobia, the city created the position of a Muslim Community Liaison Advisor.”
Ahmer Khan took on the role in December, 2022, and will be officially introduced to a city committee this month.
CAP understand how these things rolls. Within five years, an Islamophobia radar squad will be positioned in every major city in our country. As with half-citizen Liberal MP Iqra Khalid’s M103 motion– co-created with National Council of Canadian Muslims— it is bound to exist as an exclusive. The same will not arise for Christianity, Judaism, or other prominent religious communities.
Ahmer Khan: “The mandate is set in the action plan to combat and disrupt Islamophobia as per City Council. It’s basically combating Islamophobia on a variety of levels: in education, health, and bylaw, creating youth fellowship to advise counsel, to celebrate Islamic art and history and making sure that the education piece is the most important piece where the future generations understand differences and support those differences.”
Talk about a comprehensive, all-encompassing plan for advancement and promotion of one religion beyond the scope of all other faiths. A bloody by-law, eh? What’s coming our way– tickets for racist public commentary? Next, multiply the accomplishment by quantity fifty, a reasonable estimate on replication throughout our major urban centres and towns.
Is the future of Canada Muslim? Such ubiquitous institutionalization of the faith suggests it to be possible. Is this what PM Justin Trudeau has up his sleeve when speaking of our country as a “no core identity” society?
In truth, it’s such a naive statement that it’s hard to believe even a specious thinker like Mr. Trudeau would make the statement. It’s only natural–meaning inevitable– that a new core identity will come along to replace the hollow core Justin Trudeau created at the centre of society.
Will the world of Amira Elghabaway and Ahmer Khan be the one?
