Muslim women ‘increasingly living in fear’ after rise in Islamophobic attacks

Shaista Gohir, chair of the Muslim Women’s Network UK, said women who wear Islamic headscarves now have serious concerns about their safety due to a rise in hate crime following the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Her comments come after an 18-year-old student reported that she was punched in the face while walking through the city centre last week in a suspected Islamophobic attack.
