They’re at it again. Justin Trudeau’s Liberals are once again altering verbal terminology in an Orwellian fashion. It is not a “carbon tax”– it’s an antidote to “climate change.” In fact, the ruling government claim it is not a tax PERIOD.
The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal has ruled the “Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act” is not unconstitutional, either in whole or in part.” The ruling upholds Ottawa’s ability to set a minimum national price on greenhouse gas emissions.
Hyper-partisan(are there any other kind within cabinet?) Environment Minister Catherine McKenna said the decision confirms that putting a price on carbon is not only constitutional, but an “effective and essential part of any serious response to the global challenge of climate change.”
Tell that to the government of China, the world’s top carbon emitting nation. China produces 26% of worldwide emissions, Canada a mere 1.6%. Of course, she won’t–and neither will Justin Trudeau. After all, bending to China’s will is a Trudeau-family specialty– Pierre Trudeau being the great innovator of the concept.
McKenna went on to note that Canadians across the country are “hurting from the effects of climate change.” Huh? What Canadians are really hurting from is the ruling government taxing them TO DEATH in the name of “climate change.” A genuine Trudeau Liberal McKenna is– twisting truth inside out to maximize tax revenue intake.
There is a deeper reason for the power of our courts when it comes to government and the law. This relates to the establishment of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, entrenched within the Canadian constitution by a Trudeau Liberal government in 1982. The piece missing from media narrative over the decades is the Charter’s fundamental impact upon society.
A critical element relates to the balance of power held between Parliament and Canadian courts. In basic terms, its arrival served as a catalyst to reduce the power of ELECTED politicians, and increase the power of NON-ELECTED judges. In other words, it functionally WEAKENEDCanada’s adherence to democratic principles. As politically informed Canadians understand, Trudeau prime ministers adore impediments toward democratic process. Both father and son admire dictatorships, not democracies.
What was the result of this axiomatic power shift within government? A major uplift to Canada’s legal industry–particularly in the area of “minority” rights(once minor, but no longer). Pierre Trudeau directed funds towards special interest groups to create lawsuits should, for example, a Sikh man to demand to wear a turban at work.
The overall result was a humungous shot-in-the arm for Canada’s leftist legal industry. Pierre Trudeau was a leftist lawyer. Benefit– Pierre’s Liberal legal buddies, immigration lawyers, Third World communities, the LGBT industry, and various snowflake social justice warrior types. Disadvantage– elected members of parliament, and of course, the general Canadian public.
As a result, Canada’s political axis shifted, and Canadian society has never been the same since. Power in Canada turned away from the publicly elected officials, and toward a newly formed industry. Cultural Action Party of Canada refer to this as the Globalist Liberal Cabal–a collective of moaning social justice warriors, immigration lawyers, liberal courts, multicultural non-profit organizations(receiving BILLIONS of our tax dollars), and various other left-wing institutions.
Equally maddening is the fact that our establishment media have NEVER articulated a single aspect of this phenomenon. Why? Because they are part of it. Add over a billion dollars in trans-fer payments to media by way of Justin Trudeau, and you have a lock-down of the entire affair. That’s Trudeau’s Canada. A post-modern Canada. A “no core identity” nation. It is also everything the Trudeau family(including communist brother Alexandre) dreamed of for the fate of our country. Truly, It is the great Canadian hood-wink.
