If O'Toole is conservative, I'm Donald Duck. What bothers me about the legacy political parties (all of them) is that it's too easy to rig a selection as head of a particular party. Why bother having a F#ing election if it's rigged even before there IS an election?
Leslyn Lewis got more votes in each voting round by ballot and yet she was ignore and the party heads put that tool in - the grinning yahoo who's so enamoured by his own voice! Add Dominion technologies to the mix and we may as well vote for algae or a fungus. - And in the turd's case he is a fungus.
I know many Canadians think the process of selecting candidates per party a long and irrational exercise. But looking back to 2016 there were some 17 candidates running for head of the Republican Party. After the votes Donald Trump was chosen. Then there was the Electoral College who was created to ensure all States had equal representation. We never had this in Canada. Instead we had a very lopsided First Past the Post system which even England stopped using a long time ago.
When there were only 2 Provinces (Upper and Lower Canada), it was the Liberal Party that wanted to ensure they would be the 'natural' governing power and so placed unequal representation in Que and Ont - French and English opportunities for the guarantee of election while, after time passed, ensured none of the other Provinces or Territories had the same number of available seats in the house. After elections, the 'winner' And I use that term loosely, got to redivide ridings thus ensuring more opportunities for them to 'win'.
Add to that the 'winning' Party would automatically be granted money allocated automatically from taxpayer's taxes for their war chests. We've been screwed from the beginning. And please don't think there isn't an element of revenge from the Libs - the French are still pissed off they lost at the Battle on the Plains of Abraham Biggest mistake of Britain? Allowing them to keep their language, religion and culture. Since then This country has been a house divided. As for all the anti-Anglo sentiment in Quebec and Ottawa it really doesn't matter in the long run because even if they choose to have an Anglo PM it's still the Lib Party with their Lib politics. It's called playing the long game.
Fast forward to the US 2020 elections: there are still audits being done. And the results are steadily coming in that voting fraud ensured the compromised candidate that could be controlled was selected... and I'm convinced the next elections whether Provincial or Federal will ensure the favourite candidate will be selected no matter the true result to ensure the reset will be enacted increment by increment.
It's easy for the corrupt to be selected when the corrupt are being manipulated for the puppets they are because they don't want the public to know precisely how deranged or depraved their behaviours actually are. No-one in the upper echelon will rat out anyone else because as the old saying goes that when you point a finger of accusation at someone there will be three fingers pointing back at you.
Game. Set. Match. We were done well before 1867.
